“Gordon, thanks so so much for everything you have done for all the boys and especially Michael. Your hard work is most appreciated. Besides the great coaching and leadership, the way you talk to the boys both in winning and in defeat is most wonderful” – Bennett K.
“Gordon, my son was far from the most talented on the basketball team you coached … but you made him feel like the most important man on the squad and as a result, he showed tremendous improvement by season’s end. You are a great motivator and a great guy. Many thanks! Take care”. Fred B.
“My son, Ryan, has been playing soccer for the past 7 years. Ryan has always loved soccer even though he has never been a “superstar player”. This past season, Ryan had the privilege to be coached by Gordon Myers. Gordon was able to get extraordinary results from my son as a result of his coaching techniques and one-on-one mentoring. Gordon is all about results and accountability and always made my son feel special and very much a part of a wonderful and talented soccer team. The fact that the team made it all the way to the playoffs was only the icing on the cake”. Debbie S.
Gordon Myers is the type of person you hope your child has the honor of being associated with. When we found out our son was going to have him as a soccer coach for the first time, we were ecstatic just based on opinions we had heard. What we got was way beyond our expectations. Imagine how lucky we felt when we “scored” a second season with his team. Not only did our son have the best possible time, the team achieved a “goal” far beyond anyone’s wildest dreams. Gordon’s forte is bringing together kids of all levels so that all of them know what is expected of them. Everyone bears an equal burden based on raising his own level of play. Aside from that, Gordon is just plain fun to be around socially. He can’t help but see the positive in every person and situation, and each kid is prodded with a balance of humor and sincerity. The man is an inspiration to all and truly made a life-long impression on our son and family. Most sincerely, Tom and Fawnn S.
“Gordon has been a tremendous mentor to my teenage son Ron. Gordon is always willing to go the extra mile to teach the kids and to help them obtain common sense that will be invaluable to the development of their minds and will serve them during their lifetime. Thank you. Keep up the good work”. Eli C.
“Having known Gordon Myers since 2003 we can attest to the fact that we would feel privileged and blessed to have Gordon work with any of our 3 sons. Gordon has always been flexible, enthusiastic, helpful and encouraging in his dealings with children of all ages. His passion in wanting to impart knowledge to the kids he works with is evident. He is personable with parents and kids alike. Gordon has impacted so many children in a positive way and we feel lucky to have been a part of it”. Cindy and Joel L.
“My son Zachary has been through innumerable seasons of soccer, baseball and other sports and one experience stands out well above all the others: the season you coached his soccer team. You have an astounding talent for simultaneously teaching a sport, motivating the kids, building self-esteem, and . . . making it all so much fun! I truly have no clue how you do it, but I can only hope that others are lucky enough to receive the benefit of your talents. Thank you so much”. Marty R.
“Our Son, Joseph, played on an American Youth Soccer Team that was coached by Gordon Myers. We were very impressed the very first day soccer practice started. Gordon inspired all of the children to give their very best. All through out the season, the time Joseph spent with Gordon helped build and improve his self esteem. Gordon was always very considerate and sensitive to the skill level of all the boys, as well as the emotional state each child was in on any particular day. One thing we really liked was the spirit of teamwork he gave these kids. We feel the time Joseph spent with Gordon was time very well spent. We are very very happy to have had this man is our son’s life.” – Sincerely, Eric and Nora S.
“Recently my 10 year old son Jacob had the distinct pleasure to be play AYSO soccer with an outstanding coach named Gordon Myers. Having coached myself, I understand the difficulties and complexities of coaching a group of 10 and 11 year old children and Gordon did it better then anyone. His coaching style that he implemented was extremely well balanced and thought out while fluid and natural. Gordon has a unique ability to relate to the children on all levels and he gave 100% of his time to the kids. Gordon’s love for children and passion motivated the team to achieve their full potential while at the same time he made sure they all had fun and were treated fairly. Ultimately, the team went on to win the park championship and traveled to Bakersfield for a chance at the state championship. All of the children including my son seem to have the best experience of soccer this past season and without question Gordon was the one to make it all happen I can’t emphasize enough how lucky my child was to be a part of Gordon’s tearn. My son Jacob learned not just soccer, but a lot about about life and how working as a team you can achieve a common goal. Sincerely”. Dana D.
“It has been a couple of years since you coached my youngest son, Evan. As you know, he is a wonderful child with many interests outside of sports. He has grown up with an older brother and sister who are both gifted athletes, Josh in baseball and Rachel in soccer (although she moved onto dance). Your soccer team was composed of a group of good kids who happened to be pretty good in soccer. That being said, you brought out the best in them and brought them to the championship. But, that is not what I will remember of you. What I remember most is a warm, enthusiastic coach that put my son in the game when the game was on the line, and he succeeded. You didn’t have to do it, and the vast majority of coaches would not have – but you did – and he succeeded. He actually scored a goal. It was a season I will never forget – and it was because of you. You were a truly inspirational and fine coach – one of a kind. Best of luck and best regards”. Barry B.
