School Assemblies – “Giving Kids a Lift in Life”

Invite Street Smart Kids to introduce “Giving Kids a Lift in Life” at your school, organization or facility. You will be astounded by an exceptional presentation on new ways for kids to look at life. Sometimes referred to as “Preventative Therapy”, Gordon inspires our young and not so young, to look at life in such a way that some typical challenges seem to just melt away.

Believing that kids today are forced to grow up way too fast and that most of them are ill prepared to cope with the demands of such a rushed childhood, Gordon has devoted his life to providing today’s kids with that huge missing segment. Teaching our kids Street Smarts while they are still young is an endowment that will last forever and ultimately improve their quality of life, including those in their circle of influence.

Gordon’s humorously told life lessons from the street will empower kids to take charge and to be accountable for a big part of what happens to them before they reach adulthood and might then possibly need to stand in the long line to seek professional help.

These presentations are designed for larger groups but can be tailor made for specific audiences, covering every “real world” topic imaginable. These programs are devoted to ordinary kids who would not mind being a little extraordinary.

After School Programs – “Rising to the Challenge”
Also for Youth Organizations and Sports Teams

Gordon will share easy to follow strategies on how to watch and learn from the actions and experiences of those that have ‘already done it!’ Kids will learn to put common sense and simple logic to very good use. Most importantly, kids will immediately learn to start developing their resources for the future.

This series of programs is available in a one, two, three or four week session – or as a standalone on a weekly basis and is designed for any number of kids.
It is not about telling kids what to do and what not to do, like so many other presenters who consequently leave their audiences feeling overwhelmed and inadequate, but rather to encourage them to explore a thought process, a way of thinking, that will allow them to consider the possible consequences of their choices, both when choosing to do something when no-one is looking or when allowing themselves to be pressured by society or their peers.

Kids should take advantage of every opportunity to learn from these programs, designed specifically to make them more aware of the unpredictable outcome of their daily choices. This valuable material is for kids whose parents might be busy, under pressure, distracted, in a tough relationship, dealing with a challenging job or just simply language or culturally challenged. Without a solid grasp of today’s American culture and its dangerous attractions enticing our youth, parents face the risk of finding out a little too late about the effects of our 21st century, social order on a young, unsupervised mind.

Programs can be scheduled to start directly after school or later in the evenings so parents can attend as well.

MENTORBALL - “Life Lessons with a Ball”
Also for Schools, Youth Organizations and Sports Teams

Allow Street Smart Kids to introduce “Mentorball” at your school, organization or facility. You will be pleased to learn about an exceptional new program teaching kids to understand some of life’s challenges while play youth sports at their own pace. Gordon inspires kids to play sports in such a way that typical challenges on the field or the court fade away.

Believing that kids today are under too much pressure to perform and that most of them are ill prepared to cope with the demands of such an outlook, Gordon has devoted his time to providing today’s kids with a forum to learn how to play a sport at their own pace and still succeed. Teaching our kids to play soccer or basketball in such a way, regardless of their individual talents and abilities, will ensure that they enjoy the game for many years, possibly even longer than those currently driven by the possibility of fame and fortune.

Gordon’s tailor made games, mini leagues and teaching methods will empower kids to learn, teach and support one another, all while keeping the desire to play. They will learn to be accountable for their health and develop a positive outlook as they grow older and develop distracting interests. This unintimidating and fun filled way to learn to play is an excellent way for kids with some mild coordination and athletic hurdles, to enjoy the health benefits and camaraderie that only sports can offer.

Each session comprises typical soccer or basketball lessons but with related life coaching, ultimately teaching young children to be a little smarter while developing into young adults. Values such as, teamwork, discipline, structure, sportsmanship and self esteem are invisibly woven right into each session. Gordon will share easy to follow strategies on how to play ball but most importantly, kids will sublimely develop resources for their future.

Many kids may not have the good fortune to be coached by an adult with the right intentions. Many youth coaches just want to win, focus on the superstar kids and do nothing to develop the rest of the kids on the team. In fact, coaches and parents are often the main reasons why kids with or without potential quit, and usually for all the wrong reasons.

Mentorball is designed specifically to help kids develop both physically and mentally into healthy young adults. These valuable sessions are equally important for kids who are highly competitive and could use a little direction and for those who aren’t, but nevertheless, deserve a chance to benefit from the many wonderful opportunities that playing sports brings to our lives.
